Patrick Mahomes's Rookie Ticket, #303 in 2017 Panini Contenders, was released December 29, 2017, two days before his first start.
A hobby box held twenty-four packs of five, with five or six autographs, one or two of them hand-signed Rookie Tickets. Those run from #301 to #340, with variations at #341 through #380. Mahomes's #303 was a short print with a listed run of 212; his variation, #343, was listed at 100. Neither is serial-numbered. Above them come Playoff and Championship Tickets, Cracked Ice to 25 and a Super Bowl Ticket of one.
ROOKIE TICKET is printed in black at the upper left, over the Chiefs' arrowhead, PATRICK MAHOMES II, TYLER, TX, and a stub that reads SECTION 225, ROW 62, SEAT 15, QUARTERBACK. Beside it, on a gold ground, he rolls out in helmet and red jersey, number 15, the ball held in both hands. His signature crosses the white below in black marker, under the words Authentic Signature.
Section 225, Row 62, Seat 15. Quarterback.
On December 31, at Denver, he made the only start of his rookie season.
