The Heirloom Index

Terms of Service

Last updated September 13, 2026. By using this site or buying anything from it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. Who we are, and what this is

The Heirloom Index is published by Gregory S. Ostrowski, Annapolis, Maryland. It is an information and curation site about blue-chip graded sports cards, together with a small number of printed and written documentation products.

2. What we are not

This section is the important one, and it is meant plainly.

We are not an appraiser. Nothing on this site is an appraisal, a valuation, or an opinion of value for insurance, tax, estate, lending or any other purpose. Our work is documentation: we write down what a thing is and what the public record shows.

We are not a financial advisor, broker, or dealer, and nothing here is investment advice. We do not recommend that you buy or sell anything. Our signals describe observed listing data; they never forecast, and they may be incomplete or delayed.

We are not an authenticator or a grading service. Where a card is graded, we report the grade a third party assigned. We do not verify it.

We do not buy, sell or broker cards. Where we link to a listing, the seller is a third party and the transaction is between you and them.

3. The information on this site

Prices shown are asking prices from public listings, not sale prices, unless explicitly labeled as realized results from a named auction house. An asking price is not a sale, and one sale is not a price.

Where we publish a fee charged by an auction house, it is reproduced as that house states it on the date shown. Houses revise their terms without notice. Confirm anything material directly with the house before you act on it.

We take care with our data and we still expect it to contain errors. Information is provided as it stands, without any warranty that it is accurate, current or complete. Do not rely on it for a decision that matters without verifying it independently.

4. What we sell

Prices, specifications and availability may change. The price that applies to your order is the price shown at checkout.

5. Orders, and what you are responsible for

We print exactly what you type. Spelling, punctuation and capital letters are set as you enter them. Please read your entries back before paying — this is stated at checkout and it is the safeguard the process depends on.

You are responsible for the rights in what you send us. If you supply a photograph, you confirm that you are entitled to give it to us and to have it printed. If you supply a link, we treat it as identifying which card you mean, not as a license to reproduce that seller’s photograph.

We may decline or refund an order — promptly, and with a reason — if we cannot source an acceptable image of the card, or if the request would require us to reproduce material we are not entitled to use.

6. Payment

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card details. Stripe’s own terms govern the payment itself.

7. Delivery, returns and remakes

Physical items ship within the United States, with postage included in the price. Allow about two weeks. Where we publish a seasonal ordering deadline, it is our best estimate and not a guarantee of a delivery date.

Our returns and remakes policy is part of these terms and is published at Returns and remakes. In short: a full refund any time before we print; a free remake if it arrives damaged or we made a mistake; one free reset if you spot a typo in your own wording before it ships; and no return once a personalized item has been printed, because there is no second owner for it.

8. Your words, and your rights in them

The words you write remain yours. You grant us only the limited permission needed to print them on the item you ordered. We do not publish them, we do not use them in marketing, and we do not keep a copy beyond what is needed to fulfill and support the order.

9. Our content

The writing, photographs, page designs and printed layouts on this site are original and are ours. You may quote briefly with attribution. You may not reproduce substantial portions, republish our data, or use any of it to train a machine-learning model.

Card images, player names, team marks and auction house names belong to their respective owners, who do not sponsor or endorse this site.

10. Links and affiliate relationships

This site contains affiliate links, including to eBay, and may earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no additional cost to you. Where an individual page carries none, it says so. Where we have a commercial relationship with an auction house, it is disclosed.

Inclusion in and ordering of the Heirloom 25, the Radar and our published fee tables are never for sale, and no payment influences them.

We link to third-party sites we do not control and are not responsible for their content.

11. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Heirloom Index and Gregory S. Ostrowski will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of your use of this site or its information — including any decision to buy, sell, insure or hold a collectible.

Our total liability for any claim relating to a product you bought is limited to the amount you paid for it.

Nothing here is intended to exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from material you supply to us — in particular a photograph you did not have the right to give us.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, and the courts of Maryland will have exclusive jurisdiction.

14. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes will be noted on the page.
