Returns and remakes

Everything here is made one at a time, with somebody’s own card and somebody’s own words on it. That shapes what we can and cannot undo, so here is all of it plainly.

Before we make it — a full refund, no questions

Plates are made in batches, so there is usually a few days between your order and the moment it is printed. If you change your mind in that window, write to us and we will refund you in full. You do not have to give a reason and we will not ask for one.

If it arrives damaged, or we got it wrong

Tell us and we will make another and post it. There is nothing to send back and nothing to pay. A photograph helps but is not required, and we would rather remake it than refund you — you wanted the thing, not the money.

If the mistake is in your own wording

It happens, and it is the thing people worry about most. If you spot a mistake in what you typed, tell us before it ships and we will set it again, once, at no charge. A misspelled name is not a reason to live with the wrong plate.

We do print exactly what you enter — that is what keeps this quick — so it is still worth reading your words back at checkout. But if something slips through, say so and we will fix it.

Once it is printed

After a plate has been printed we cannot take it back. It has your card and your words on it, and there is no second owner for it — that is the trade for something made only for you. It is also why the two clauses above exist, and why we would rather hear from you early than late.

If we cannot find a good image of your card

It is a real possibility on a scarce card. If we cannot source a clean enough image of the exact card, we refund you the same day and tell you why. You will not have to chase us for it.

The Documentation Kit

The kit is a personalized PDF, so it cannot be returned once it has been delivered. If it does not arrive, or arrives wrong, write to us and we will put it right the same day.

How to reach us

Write to support@theheirloomindex.com. One person reads it, and you will hear back.
