Aaron Judge's Topps Chrome rookie, #169, was released August 2, 2017, in the middle of his 52-home-run rookie season.
Topps Chrome had 200 cards that year, using the Series One design in chromium, twenty-four packs of four to a hobby box with two autographs. Refractors fell about one in three packs, and the run went on through Prism, Sepia, Pink, X-Fractor and Negative to numbered colors and a SuperFractor of one. A running variation exists, and all of those are Refractors.
The photograph is the flagship's catch at the wall: home pinstripes, the glove high, the other hand open. In chromium the background darkens to a deep violet, the slanting bar shines, and a small CHROME tag sits at the lower right. The Topps Chrome logo and the RC shield are at the upper left.
The same catch, darker, and shining.
Five years later, on October 4, 2022, at Texas, he hit his sixty-second home run, passing Roger Maris for the American League record.
