In 1996-97 SkyBox built a card you could see through. The E-X2000 set has 82 cards, packed two to a pack, and each one sets a glossy die-cut figure of the player over a clear acetate panel printed with clouds, framed in etched foil.
Kobe Bryant is #30. Hold the card up to the light and the room behind it shows through the sky around him.
Hold it up to the light, and the room behind it shows through the sky around him.
On #30 he is in the gold home jersey, number 8, gathering the ball at his chest, cut out against a window of clear acetate framed in green, with his name in large gold script across the bottom.
The base card is not numbered. Its parallel, Credentials, is numbered to 499, with a pearl foil border and the word CREDENTIALS on the front; otherwise the two are nearly identical.
The acetate was the attraction and the foil border is the weakness. The edges show wear and chipping easily and the borders take dings, which makes a clean copy uncommon.
