Luka Dončić's Optic Rated Rookie, #177, is the chromium version of his Donruss card, and it carries the same number.
Donruss Optic arrived on January 30, 2019, halfway through his rookie season. The set had 200 cards, veterans first and the Rated Rookies at #151 through #200, packed twenty packs of four to a hobby box with one autograph. Above the base came Holo, a row of retail colors, and numbered versions from Orange at 199 down to a Black and a Gold Vinyl of one.
He crouches in Mavericks blue, number 77, dribbling low with his left hand against a black background inside a blue frame and a white border. The RATED ROOKIE logo sits at the upper left in blue and white. MAVERICKS and LUKA DONČIĆ, with both accents, run across the bottom beside the Optic logo.
He was nineteen. The spring before, he had been named the EuroLeague's most valuable player with Real Madrid, the youngest to win it.

Five years later he was the Western Conference Finals MVP, and in February 2025 Dallas traded him to the Lakers.
