Luka Dončić's base Prizm rookie is #280 in 2018-19 Panini Prizm, which reached hobby shops on November 21, 2018.
The set had 300 cards and a long run of parallels: unnumbered Silver, Hyper and Ruby Wave, colors made for particular retail boxes, and numbered versions from Red at 299 down to a Black of one. The Silver is our roster card. This is the card beneath it.
He rises for a jump shot in Mavericks blue, number 77, the ball already released above his head, one knee lifted. The RC shield sits at the upper left, the Prizm logo at the right, and his name runs across the bottom as LUKA DONCIC, without the accents his name carries.
The card spells it DONCIC. The accents came later.
Atlanta had drafted him third that June and traded him to Dallas for the rights to Trae Young. By February 2019 Panini was reporting that he led his rookie class in sales by a wide margin.
He averaged 21.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 6.0 assists that season and was named Rookie of the Year on every ballot.
