1933 Goudey #149 — The Red Ruth

The #149 is the Yellow Ruth's near-twin — the same portrait, now on red. Collectors call it the Red Ruth.

Choosing between the two comes down to taste. Ask a room of collectors which they prefer and the answers split; both are the same likeness, changed only by the color at his back.

Same portrait as the #53. Only the background changes.

With the #53, the full-length #144 and the seated #181, it completes Ruth's presence in the set — four cards of one man, more than Goudey gave anyone else.
