Victor Wembanyama's 2025-26 Topps Chrome card is #221, from the first licensed standalone Topps Chrome basketball set since 2008-09.
Topps, now part of Fanatics, took back the NBA license on October 1, 2025. Its last licensed cards had been in 2009-10, when Chrome came inside the flagship packs, and the Chrome sets of 2023-24 and 2024-25 carried no team logos. This one was released on December 18, 2025: 299 cards, numbered to 300, with no #226.
The copy pictured is the Negative Refractor, unnumbered, about one in 31 hobby packs. The colors are inverted like a photographic negative, so the Spurs' dark jersey prints pale, the lettering prints dark, and the crowd behind him turns into a wash of pastel. SPURS runs down the left side in outlined letters, and WEMBANYAMA sits on a black bar at the foot.
The colors run backward, and the dark jersey prints pale.
It is not a rookie card. It comes from his third season, the one that brought Defensive Player of the Year, announced April 20, 2026, the first unanimous winner of that award and, at twenty-two, the youngest. A Game 7 win at Oklahoma City on May 30 made him the Western Conference Finals MVP and took the Spurs to their first Finals since 2014, which they lost to the Knicks in five games.
A blood clot had ended his previous season in February 2025.
