Before refractors were everywhere, there was 1993-94 Finest — the set that introduced the rainbow-chrome technology that would go on to define modern collecting. Jordan is card number one. Fitting, since the whole idea of the premium chrome card more or less starts here.
Pull it under a light and the surface throws color in every direction; it's the effect every Prizm and Chrome rookie since has been chasing. Owning the Jordan refractor from the set that started it is a quiet way of owning the beginning of an era.
Card #1 from the set that gave the hobby the refractor.
The early Finest refractors are notoriously condition-sensitive — the chrome surface is prone to fine scratches and the dark borders show every flaw — so clean, high-grade copies are scarce and prized. It's a landmark as much as a card.
